Mitt, Milk, and Butter: How to Get Smooth Skin in 3 Easy Steps

how to get smooth skin in 3 easy steps

Want smoother, glowier skin? Exfoliating is your only way to get it, and doing it at home can be drudgery (not as bad as laundry, but still). It's time to turn your bathroom into a spa: We've got tips straight from the source that will give you glowing results in your shower saving you time and money. Here’s how to get smooth skin like a pro:

Slough It Off: Pros know that the fastest way to super smooth skin (and to rev up circulation) is to skip the scrub and use a sloughing mitt made of natural loofah or man-made materials. Hop in the shower and get the water nice and hot, and then using circular motions, go over your entire body until your skin looks kinda red, not pink.

Milk It: Most spas know how to get smooth skin with homegrown ingredients, so why shouldn't you? Milk has lactic acids which are gentle, natural exfoliators that lift away dead skin cells and won’t dry out your skin. Heat up the milk so it is lukewarm, pour it into a bowl (the fattier types work best), and then soak the mitt in it for a minute to absorb as much as it can.  Rub the milky mitt all over your body and then rinse off in the shower.

Lube Up: Once you've got baby soft skin, you need to treat it with extra gentle care. A thick body butter is best, since a lightweight lotion won’t give the freshly revealed skin cells as much hydration. Apply it while your skin is still damp to lock in the extra moisture and get a polished, glowy effect.

Now that you know how to get spa quality skin at home don't be afraid to give it a try and let your skin glow.
